Culinary and Kitchen position duties include but are not limited to:
Contribute to the food program through food preparation, cooking, and sanitation. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have culinary experience.
Responsibilities:
for all Kitchen & Culinary Positions:
- Communicate kitchen needs with the General Manager and Kitchen Manager.
- Keep kitchen set up and stocked on a continual basis.
- Ensure proper preparation for food service prior to service hours.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers.
- Any other duties and responsibility needed to ensure the effective operation of the kitchen.
- Store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers.

for Prep Cooks:
- Follow the prep list set by the Kitchen Manager and Sous Chef.
- Perform routine kitchen tasks so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
- Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible, as well as ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
- Prepare ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
- Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
- Prepare simple dishes for service.
for Line Cooks:
- Contribute to customer service needs.
- Work the line throughout service.
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as prep cook.
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen.
- Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils.
- Current Texas Food Handler’s Certificate.
- Able to lift boxes up to 50lbs on occasion.
- Able to work variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to walk, stand and work in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
